Fitness and confidence for the whole family

Dec 20, 2012 by Simon Roe

My daughter and son began karate with Sensei George and Stephanie 7 years ago when they were invited by friends. A year ago -after watching their classes twice a week- I decided to join myself. Everyone was very tolerant of the novice and gave gentle constructive advice. I've seen newcomers of all ages start since then, and the nurturing is the same - as long as you bring a willingness to learn - and to focus - the personal instruction will be there. This is not a dojo that is so full that you never get help - there are always people watching and helping you improve. A great place to build your fitness, a sense of your body, and learn self defense for all ages.

Great family atmosphere

A few years ago, my then 4 year old daughter attended her first karate class with Fitness 4 Life.  I would often stand by the sidelines and watch her and wished I too could participate.  I felt that I had no athletic skill, coordination or ability to learn martial arts, but nevertheless, I decided to join the adult class. Since these 5+ years, I have not looked back or regretted my decision.  I have become more confident in myself, gained invaluable knowledge and experience, all while enjoying myself.  As the years have gone by, I have gained a deep appreciation and respect for the  family that runs this program.  They are incredibly patient with their students,  genuinely care for everyone, but they also push you to grow and succeed in learning the traditional style of karate.

I hope that I never have to use what I have learned, but I know I am prepared to defend myself or family if the need ever arose. It is also reassuring to know that my daughter is on that same path of growth.  Because she is now of age to join the adult class, she and I get to participate together.  There are many families that do the same in our class as well.  I find that spending that quality time with my daughter is a bonus with this class, but something I greatly cherish.

We love Fitness4Life! My son started taking Karate a number of years ago with this family and we loved them right away. They offer such a wonderful family atmosphere, and my son thrived in the class. Later my daughter joined and then me. Not only is the atmosphere inviting, we have received excellent instruction. We are all very excited in our improvement. What a joy to be able to share this experience as a family, but what makes it so great is this Karate family who lead us.

Fitness 4 Life Karate Rocks!

I can't speak highly enough of Fitness 4 Life and their fantastic instructors. When I was looking for a place for my boys to learn Karate, my main concern was finding a school that was family oriented and reinforced sound values. Fitness 4 Life is that and so much more. After watching my boys work out for a few months and being completely impressed with the quality, sensitivity and engagement of instruction, I decided to join in (as have many other parents). Working out as a family is absolutely priceless. I can confidently say that their karate classes are the best you'll find. Their classes for kids (ages 4-12) are truly amazing, and their adult classes will engage and challenge both teens as well as us "post-teens." Unlike any other gym that I've ever been to, these folks have successfully built a real community. If you're looking to learn karate, or for a place to work out, give Fitness 4 Life a try... you won't be disappointed!!

Our family has been enrolled in karate for the past four years and has had a wonderful experience with the fitness4life family. The skills our children are learning go well beyond just martial arts training. They learn discipline, respect, stranger danger and many life lessons that they will carry with them into adulthood. Karate is fun, educational and a great way to build our family's fitness level.
